Far Eastern New Century : FENC Received Champion Recognition Third Time for Global Views Corporate Social Responsibility Award

Far Eastern New Century Corporation (FENC) CSR effort is been seen again by winning in the Manufacturing Industry Category of 15th Annual Corporate Social Responsibility Award by Global Views Monthly. This is the third time FENC been awarded with the same recognition since 2016 and 2018. This year, FENC is further awarded 'Excellent at Environmental Sustainability' with its project of 'FENC Energy Task Force - Promote the Circular Production'. Chairman Douglas Tong Hsu represented the Company to receive the award presented by Mr. Jong-Chin Shen , the Minister of Ministry of Economic Affairs at ceremony today (4/30).

Being the 'Winner at the Category of Manufacturing Industry' award for more than once, showed the outstanding performance of FENC in corporate responsibility in general. And the second 'Excellent at Environmental Sustainability' award received this year is the recognition to FENC Energy Task Force for promoting the circular production. FENC's CSR Committee has been set up in accordance to the organization structure, supervised by the Board of Directors at the highest level. A total of 149 committee members are appointed to execute the projects. CSR Committee proposed the sustainability action plan to jointly complete the 'FENC Sustainability Strategic Blueprint.' It identifies SDGs important to FENC as future goals for sustainable development.

The influence of FENC green product is spreading all over the world. The 2018 revenue of green sustainable products was NT$31.5 Billion dollars (US$1.01 Billion) with 16% of growth to last year; FENC turns PET bottles from the ocean into the eco-friendly yarn. This project has reduced more than 1,600 metric tons of ocean plastic waste by the end of 2018. The excellent R&D ability and capability in production and selling make FENC as a 'Gold Supplier' of H&M, a one of supplier partners of NIKE's digitalization and modernization projects and the winner of 'Hasbro Excellence in Sustainability' award.

The social responsibility performance by FENC is widely recognized by professional institutions both domestically and at overseas. FENC has been selected in indexes including MSCI ESG Leaders Indexes - A Level, FTSE4Good Emerging Index and Taiwan Sustainability Index…etc. In addition, FENC also received total eight awards from Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards (TCSA) and Global Corporate Sustainability Awards (GCSA) in 2018; FENC not only had been promoted to the Top 10 'TCSA Most Prestigious Sustainability Awards', but also received TCSA's 'CSR Report of the Year' for three consecutive years. On top of that, FENC, was one of the two Taiwan winners of 'Global Corporate Sustainability Awards (GCSA)'.
