VILNIUS, Dec 16 (LETA--BNS) -Wholesale electricity prices fell by 7 percent in all three Baltic countries last week, markinga second week of decline, Lithuania's power transmission system operator Litgrid said on Monday.

Electricity prices averaged 38.8 euros per megawatt-hour (MWh)in Nord Pool's Lithuanian bidding area on December 9-15 and were at similar levels in Latvia and Estonia.

Across the Nord Pool system, the average price went down by 4 percent to 36.9 euros per MWh.

Litgrid attributed the decline in the Baltic electricity prices to a general downward trend in the regional market and stablepower consumption, as well ascontinued high wind power generation and warmer weather, and stableprices for emission allowances,

The three Baltic countries' electricity production totaled 323 GWh last week, covering 53 percent of their overall consumption, which edged up to 616 GWh.
