Belgium intends to issue a new 10-year, October 2034-dated government bond, or OLO, for which it has mandated banks, one of the banks said, citing the country's finance minister Vincent Van Peteghem on Monday.

The joint bookrunners hired for the transaction, which is planned in the near future, subject to market conditions, are Barclays, BNP Paribas Fortis, Credit Agricole CIB, J.P. Morgan and Natixis.

Belgium's government bond auction scheduled for Jan. 29 is cancelled.
