The delegation from Israel is led by 22 delegates from higher education institutions including Yaffa Zilbershats, the Chair of Planning and Budgeting Committee of the Higher Education Council, Ron Robin, President of Haifa University, Nili Cohen, President of the Israeli Academy of Sciences and Humanities, Menachem Ben-Sasson, Chancellor of Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Yoav Henis, Vice President for Research and Development of Tel Aviv University and Emma Afterman, Head of International Policy and Cooperation of Council for Higher Education of Israel. The delegation visited the Republic of Korea with the Israeli President on the official visit to Korea on July 14-18, and all the delegates visited Konkuk University on 17th.

The Israeli delegation and Konkuk University held an academic exchange workshop at the conference room of Konkuk University. The workshop was attended by Konkuk University President Saggi Min, Academic Affairs Committee members, researchers of Konkuk University’s research centers and searched for ways for mutual cooperation.

In particular, at the workshop, Professor Dong-eun Kim, the Vice President of International Affairs introduced about Konkuk University and current situation of the interchange between Israel and Konkuk University. In addition, professors in charge of eight key research fields in Konkuk University presented in detail regarding their research status and cooperation plan.

Also during the workshop, 8 research projects of future growth field were introduced by KU OLIVE Center (Director Yong Beom Cho, Executive Vice President for Public Affairs), Cloud Computing for AI Research Center (Director Doo-Hyun Kim), KU Academy of Mobility Humanities (Director In Seop Shin), Graduate School of Real Estate Studies (Director SungSoo Koh), Department of Stem Cell & Regenerative Biotechnology (Professor Jin Hoi Kim), Brain Korea 21+ (Director Bae Ho Park), Konkuk University-SK Chemical Research (Director Jung Kul Lee), R&D Center for Green Patrol Technologies (Director Jo Chun Kim).

Afterwards, the delegation of Israel moved to KU Smart Factory and TECH Joint Equipment Center and had an explanation by the researchers while looking at equipment such as virtual reality (VR) and advanced drone production sites.

On the other hand, President Sanggi Min signed a mutual exchange cooperation agreement with Haifa University and Ben Gurion University at the 'Korea-Israel International Forum of University Presidents’ held at the Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel.

The visit of the Israeli delegation from higher education institutions to Konkuk University is expected to find various mutual cooperation in the field of researches between Konkuk University and universities in Israel.
