FTSE 100 Poised to Fall After Downbeat Asia Trading

0735 GMT - The FTSE 100 looks set to open 19 points lower at 7457, according to IG futures data, after downbeat trading in Asia. Markets in Australia, mainland China, Hong Kong and Japan all trade in the red and the Dow fell 0.9% Friday. Brent crude gains 0.5% to $76.51 a barrel. European markets posted their first significant weekly loss last week since October, as did U.S. markets, as concerns over a slowing economy and the future pace of interest rates rises weighed on sentiment, CMC Markets says. "This late Friday slide in the U.S. looks set to weigh on today's European open," CMC analyst Michael Hewson says in a note. (philip.waller@wsj.com)
