GW Pharmaceuticals rallied after rival Jazz Pharmaceuticals agreed to buy the maker of an epilepsy drug derived from the marijuana plant, for $6.7 billion in cash and stock.

Drug wholesaler McKesson said it distributed more than 25 million doses of Moderna's Covid-19 vaccine in the U.S. through the end of January and that it has the capacity to distribute many more doses.

A World Health Organization team investigating the origins of the coronavirus visited a research institute in China at the center of U.S. assertions, denied by Beijing, that the pandemic could have stemmed from a laboratory accident.
