A business forum on business opportunities in Zimbabwe will be held in Rome on 21 February 2018

A business forum devoted to discovering opportunities in the 'New Zimbabwe' will be held in Rome on 21 February 2018 starting at 2:30 p.m. in the Confindustria offices (Viale dell 'Astronomia, 30).

The event is organised by Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo in association with the Italian Embassy in Harare and the Zimbabwe Embassy in Rome. It is an excellent opportunity for Italian companies, since the country has a strong desire to open back up to the rest of the world with the end of the Mugabe era.

CEOs from the biggest companies and public institutions in the country will attend the forum, including CZI, the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries, the Infrastructure Development Bank of Zimbabwe (IDBZ) and the Zimbabwe Investment Authority. At the end of the plenary session, any interested companies can ask for B2B meetings with the Zimbabwe delegation representatives.

Japan: Enel X awarded tender to provide 165MW demand-response services

Enel X, the new Group division involved in developing innovative energy services, was awarded a big tender contract in Japan to supply 165 MW of demand-response services, through its American subsidiary EnerNoc. EnerNoc already operates in Japan, but due to this important achievement, the Group will triple its presence. It will become the biggest operator in Japan in this business segment starting next July (when the new programmes will go into operation). The Group will manage electricity demands by big industrial and commercial customers connected to the utility grids, stabilising the grids and helping optimise electricity use, thereby improving the national energy supply.
