Ed Bassmaster is the stage name of Edwin Rodriguez, who was born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia. The former standup comic rose to fame when his comedy exploded on YouTube, where he gained millions of followers. Bassmaster’s success was turned into the reality-TV series “The Ed Bassmaster Show” that aired on CMT.

“The Rivers Casino Comedy Series continues to thrive with a roster of Philly-born comics who love to laugh in their hometown,” said Justin Moore, general manager of Rivers Casino Philadelphia. “Ed Bassmaster is a comedic chameleon who will entertain guests with his shenanigans.”

Bassmaster’s YouTube channel runs comedy videos where, as various characters, he pranks people or puts people into awkward situations. His entertaining disguises as everyday people have his fans watching hours of video to see him turn ordinary interactions into comedy gold.

Other performances in The Event Center include Philly comedians Eleanor Kerrigan and Jimmy Shubert on Thursday, Oct. 21; jazz musicians Norman Brown and Euge Groove on Friday, Oct. 22; rock bands Great White and Slaughter on Friday, Oct. 29; comedian Chuck Nice on Thursday, Nov. 18; and jazz performers Najee, Michael Lington and Paul Taylor on Friday, Nov. 26.
