Andrzej Duda said global solidarity was the only feasible strategy for rebuilding the world after the Covid-19 pandemic and stressed that this should be done without deepening social divisions.

The 16th Globsec conference (June 15-17) is taking place in a hybrid form. Its main theme is post-pandemic reconstruction in Central and Eastern Europe.

'The only effective strategy in rebuilding the post-pandemic world is the one that bases on global solidarity. The aim must be to avoid new divisions into the better and worse, the rich and poor, or the inoculated and not inoculated,' Andrzej Duda said.

He added that international solidarity also had to embrace access to Covid-19 vaccines, and pointed out that economic revival will be 'much more difficult if the economic organism is not fully fit.'

'No country can feel safe when other countries are still battling the epidemic,' the president said.

Globsec is a global think-tank based in Bratislava committed to enhancing security, prosperity and sustainability in Europe. (PAP)
