US House expected to vote Thursday on domestic surveillance bill, Republican lawmaker says

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. House of Representatives was expected to vote again on a controversial domestic surveillance bill later on Thursday, Republican Representative French Hill said.

A modest overhaul of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, or FISA, foundered in the House on Wednesday after Democratic and Republican critics, including Donald Trump, said it gave the government too much power to spy on its citizens.

"What I've been told is that we're going to do the same thing we were doing yesterday today," Hill said.
