Shares of power producers fell as Treasury yields rose sharply.

The utilities sector had thrived for much of the five years as Treasury yields fell, spurring demand for the dividend-oriented stocks.

But investors are now preparing for a prolonged increase in interest rates as concerns shift from economic weakness to rising prices during the Covid recovery.
