Caracas - Mr. Tareck El Aisammi, Economy Sector Vice-President and People's Minister of Petroleum, representing Venezuela, proposed today the consolidation of a comprehensive policy in favor of producing countries, investors and oil consuming countries, during a meeting with Mr. Mohammad Barkindo, Secretary General to the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEP),

In this sense, Mr. El Aissami pointed out that the principles to rule this proposal named 'The Three Cs' shall be coherence, cohesion and consensus, all of them based on 'the effort made until today towards the goals achieved, and future decisions yet to be taken', said he.

Likewise, Vice-President El Aissami highlighted the magnificent role played by the OPEC in the handling of the global sanitary crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He also ratified the claim on the effects generated by the coercive and illegal measures imposed by the government of the United States, especially those against the national oil industry.

On his side, Mr. Mohammad Barkindo, Secretary General to OPEC, stressed the importance of the role played by our country along the history of the organization. 'Thanks to the magnificent leadership of president Maduro, we were able not only to survive to this crisis, but to significantly overcome it.'

During the meeting held in the framework of the 61st anniversary of this energy alliance, both officers highlighted the re-balance reached in the framework of the Declaration of Cooperation, thanks to the agreement reached by OPEC+ oil producing countries, which represents a main core in the building of a new post-pandemic economy in favor of the development and prosperity of the peoples.
