In a video posted on social media by Maria Avdeeva, a research director at the European Expert Association, residential buildings were seen heavily damaged and craters on the ground from Russian bombs outside a cadet corps school in eastern Kharkiv.

Avdeeva, who described the sights she had witnessed, said there was no water or electricity supply to the residential area in the vicinity.

Ukrainian troops repulsed efforts by Russian forces to enter Kharkiv on Tuesday and foiled a planned operation by 120 Russian paratroopers near the border, regional governor Oleh Synehubov said.
