Aetna : Innovation Health Announces Interim CEO

FALLS CHURCH, Va, August 16, 2017 - Innovation Health, the Virginia health plan jointly owned by Aetna and Inova Health, announced a change in leadership under which Chief Executive Officer Dave Notari has stepped down to pursue other opportunities. Effective immediately, Paul McBride will serve as the interim CEO while a national search for a replacement is underway.

McBride will report directly to the Innovation Health Board of Directors and will be responsible for the overall success of the plan that currently serves more than 195,000 consumers in Northern Virginia. He will also oversee the expansion of Innovation Health product offerings that will include a Medicare Advantage plan in 2018.

McBride has been a leader in the health insurance industry's move to value-based collaborations among health plans and provider communities for more than twenty years, working in senior roles for the four largest health plans in the U.S. Most recently, McBride served as the vice president of Aetna's Accountable Care Solutions, where he led the company's focus on value-based relationships with providers across the country, including joint venture business development efforts.

Additionally, McBride led numerous entrepreneurial ventures focused on transforming health care, growing adoption in the market, and leading change, both domestically and internationally.
