Akçansa increased its domestic sales tonnage by 13 percent in the first quarter of the year when the domestic market gave signs of recovery. During the relevant period, the company's total sales revenue reached TRY 527.3 million and EBITDA rose to 14.1 percent, while it was 4 percent last year.

Akçansa, Turkey's leading building materials company, announced its consolidated income statement and financial results for the period as of March 31, 2021. Accordingly, the company's sales revenue for the first quarter was TRY 527.3 million and the net profit was realized as TRY 24.8 million. EBITDA, which was 4 percent in the prior-year period, rose to 14.1 percent in 2021, and the net profit margin increased to 4.7 percent.

In the January-March period, Akçansa's export income rose by 7 percent in Turkish lira. Domestic sales increased as the expectations of the construction industry to revive in the coming months have strengthened.

Akçansa General Manager M. Zeki Kanadıkırık pointed out that the challenges created by the pandemic continue in the first quarter of the year and said, 'Despite the difficulties affecting all the world economies, Akçansa achieved a successful performance by increasing our sales revenue to TRY 527.3 million and net profit to TRY 24.8 million in the first three months. Depending on the positive developments, we will work together to achieve better performance both internally and externally in the coming days of the year.'
