BOARD APPOINTMENT Appointment: Mr Chow Fah Thoo

The Company is pleased to announce that Mr Chow Fah Thoo has joined the Board of Alcyone Resources Ltd as a Non-Executive Director. Mr Thoo has been appointed to the Board as the representative of the Company's new cornerstone investor, Notion VTec Berhad (Notion)(MK:NVB).
Mr Thoo was first appointed to the Board of Notion on 8 February 2005. In his capacity as Executive Chairman, Mr Thoo's key role is strategic management and investors' relation of the Notion Group.
He commenced his career with Sime Darby Plantations in 1978, a Malaysian conglomerate. Subsequently, in 1990 he joined Sinar Mas group, one of the largest private plantation groups in Indonesia. He left the group in 1995 before setting up his own palm oil factory engineering consultancy.
Mr Thoo graduated from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. He also has a Master's degree in Management Science from Imperial College, University of London.
His expertise will strengthen and expand the Board experience base and be of considerable assistance as the Company enters the next phase of its growth strategy.
