The winning companies were presented with the awards at ceremonies on March 8 and 9, 2011 in Charleston.

The Bradbury Safety Award annually recognizes the Massey operating subsidiary that best exemplifies the Company's commitment to safety excellence. Edwight Mining Company won the award for 2010 - the second win for Edwight in three years. Members at Edwight Mining Company worked over 312,000 hours and mined 1,216,829 tons of coal without incurring any reportable incidents involving injury or any accidents resulting in lost time at work. This resulted in a perfect 0.00 Total Reportable Incidence Rate (TRIR) and 0.00 NFDL Rate for Edwight in 2010. NFDL rates are the benchmark used by the coal industry to measure safety.
