Alpha Networks to Boost Network Communication

Leading network communications vendor Alpha Networks Inc. (3380) hosted an institutional investor conference today (February 29) to outline the Company's business situation and prospects. Customer-side inventory management led to a decline in overall revenues compared to the previous year, with consolidate revenues of NT$28.272 billion reported for 2023. Adjustment of product mix meant a drop of just 0.2% in gross profit margin to 18.4% in 2023. Consolidated operating profits amounted to NT$829 million for an operating profit margin of 2.9%. Net income after tax was NT$640 million with NT$548 million being attributed to the parent company. Earnings per share was NT$1.01.

Alpha Networks Chairman Huang Wen-fang stated that some production capacity was transferred to Vietnam in response to customer requirements. The Dongguan and Changshu factories were also consolidated to maximize returns through more efficient planning of manpower and resources. The existing Vietnam factory is now running smoothly and further production capacity will start coming online at the new Vietnam factory during the course of 2024. The Vietnam factories will complement production locations in Changshu (China) and Taiwan to strengthen competitiveness of the Alpha Networks in the long-term.

The product strategy for 5G base stations is based mainly around Radio Unit (RU) products for both indoor and outdoor applications. Large shipments have already been made in Japan so the Company's next step will be to focus on key emerging markets in Asia, as well as maintain continued growth in the US and Europe. In addition to products, we also have a number of promising projects involving 5G private network applications. Examples of these included Alpha Networks' partnership with subsidiary TransNet on 5G smart factories, 5G smart yacht management at Asia New Bay Area in Kaohsiung, and the 5G smart golf course at Wufeng operated by Interactive Digital Technologies. More related projects will serve to drive the growth in 5G products in the future.

Alpha Networks is striving to become an inclusive and environmentally friendly sustainable enterprise. In 2023, we were recognized with the "Sustainability Comprehensive Performance Award - Top 100 Taiwanese Sustainable Corporates Award" and "Corporate Sustainability Reports - Gold Award" at the 16th Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards (TCSA), and the "TSAA - Effective Plastic and Waste Reduction through Environmentally Friendly Packaging - Silver Award" at the 2023 Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards.
