Assystem Radicon has been awarded a three-year Geotechnical Framework Agreement to support the development of NEOM, a region in northwest Saudi Arabia that is being built from the ground up as a living laboratory.

NEOM, stretching across four distinctive landscapes of coastal, desert, mountain, and upper valley, will support and enable the economic diversification of the Kingdom, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

Assystem Radicon's services will be key in enabling safe and sustainable construction within these distinctive ecologies that will be home to an estimated one million people. Underlying everything is a fundamental commitment to building around nature and not over it.

The Assystem Radicon project scope comprises Topographical Surveys, Offshore Geotechnical Surveys, Bathymetric Surveys, Seismic Surveys and Meta-Ocean & Hydrology Surveys, utilising the expertise of Assystem's environmental monitoring specialists in Saudi Arabia, Turkey and France.

One of NEOM's key projects, THE LINE, will be a 170km-belt of hyper-connected communities, without cars and roads and built around nature. Its designers are striving for a model of urban design and livability that puts people and planet in harmony for the 21st century and beyond. Large areas of land will be preserved for conservation, supporting NEOM's environment and rich heritage.

Geraud Meyer, Assystem Radicon Chief Executive Officer, said: 'We are thrilled to have won this framework agreement with NEOM. It's vision to put the magnificent landscape of Saudi Arabia at the heart of the development will create a key role for our experienced team of Geotechnical, Geophysical and Site Characterization specialists as they provide environmental studies and guidance ahead of the development phase.'

'We are committed to provide and sustain the best team to achieve the mission of this unique project and to deliver the crucial next steps forward to make NEOM a reality in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.'
