Company wants agile thinkers to work on low-carbon technology projects

Engineering is pushing the frontiers of low-carbon technology development, involving companies such as Assystem, who are looking for graduates to join them on these exciting energy projects today.

The Leadership Graduate Scheme targets 2020 and 2021 STEM and Project Management graduates. Successful applicants will possess strong personal attributes, including agility, resilience and the ability to dare.

Recruits will benefit from life as part of a global engineering company, working on leading energy transition projects such as Hinkley Point C, the UK Small Modular Reactor programme and nuclear fusion.

Their development will be nurtured across a three-year structured graduate programme. Graduates will receive mentoring from executive management and work on a diverse range of projects on a 12-month rotation plan.

The future leaders will also get the chance to work on one of Assystem's international projects abroad.

Assystem's UK Managing Director, Simon Barber, said: 'The scale of the country's energy transition means that 2020 and 2021 graduates will be the future leaders of the UK's Net Zero economy.

'In return for their enthusiasm, drive and commitment we can offer graduates an unrivalled beginning to their career in a global engineering company.'

Assystem operates in 15 countries across the world and is ranked as the world's second largest nuclear engineering company with a major focus on supporting energy transition projects including renewables and hydrogen. Assystem is committed to achieving gender diversity in the company and in STEM careers and drives action through its #INCREDIBLEWOMEN programme.

The Leadership Graduate Scheme is open to those who have a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng), Master of Engineering (MEng) honours, or first or second-class degrees in a STEM subject or a Project Management degree.

Having the right to work in the UK is essential.

Assystem has UK offices in Blackburn, Sunderland, Bristol, Whitehaven, Derby and London. Assystem is a Tier 1 supplier to the UK nuclear industry, supporting the development of Hinkley Point C (HPC) and the UK SMR programme and is a leading nuclear fusion engineering company.

Applicants will be expected to work at any of Assystem's UK offices, dependent on placement.

Those interested in applying for Assystem's Leadership Graduate scheme can do so by submitting their CV and cover letter to graduates@assystem.com and visit our dedicated page on LinkedIn by clicking here.
