PRESS RELEASE
DBRS PLACES BANCA CARIGE'S RATINGS
UNDER REVIEW WITH POSITIVE IMPLICATIONS
Genoa, 22 February 2022 - Banca Carige informs that DBRS Morningstar has placed the Group's ratings under review with positive implications.
The Agency's action is part of its expectation of an improvement of the Bank's rating ('B low') to reflect the positive impact deriving from the entrance in the BPER Banca Group ('unrated'), set to become the fourth largest banking group in Italy when, without prejudice to the necessary authorisations by the Supervisory Authorities, Banca Carige's major shareholder (the Interbank Deposit Protection Fund - FITD - and FITD's Voluntary Intervention Scheme) will sell its interest to the Emilia-based Group.
The Agency also clarifies that, if the acquisition does not go ahead, the Bank's ratings would revert back to a stable trend.
DBRS Morningstar's press release is available on the website of the Ratings Agency.
