• The agreement, which increases the amount contributed in 2020 by 10,000 euros, includes the implementation of the '2021 Call for Proposals for Social Action' and the '2nd Environment and Sustainable Development Call', among other joint initiatives
  • The agreement was signed by Bankia's Ávila Centre-North regional director, Óscar Pérez Blázquez, and the president of Fundación Ávila, María Dolores Ruiz-Ayúcar

During 2021, Bankia will be supporting Fundación Ávila with a contribution of 180,000 euros to support social, environmental and cultural programmes developed in Ávila province and which will be jointly managed by both entities.

This is contemplated in the collaboration agreement whose renewal, for the ninth consecutive year, has been signed at Los Serrano Palace, headquarters of Fundación Ávila, by Bankia's Ávila Centre-North regional director, Óscar Pérez Blázquez, and the president of Fundación Ávila, María Dolores Ruiz-Ayúcar.

The agreement includes the launching of several joint actions this year, including the '2021 Call for Social Action', which will once again provide economic support to the social projects of associations in the province.

Especially relevant this year will be the '2nd Environment and Sustainable Development Call', which increases the amount contributed to achieve greater local impact of the selected projects in the fight against climate change. Similarly, the focus continues to be on local, cultural and social development.

Bankia's Ávila Centre-North regional director pointed out that 'Bankia is exceedingly proud and takes on the responsibility of once again, working alongside the social and environmental entities that work for Ávila's society'. 'Together with Fundación Ávila, we want to contribute to the social, economic and environmental development of a region as important to us as is Ávila and in a socio-economic context as complex as the current one in which it is more necessary than ever to support those who need it the most'.

For her part, the president of Fundación Ávila thanked the bank's commitment to the people of Ávila over the years because, as she recalled, 'this is the ninth year in which Bankia has placed its trust in us and, in the end, that impacts the sustained improvement of the social conditions of Ávila, which is in great need'.

Bankia
