(Alliance News) - Base Resources Ltd on Friday said it lowered its mineral resource and ore reserve estimates at its Kwale operations in Kenya due to depletion.

The West Perth, Australia-based African-focused mineral sands producer and developer said as at June 30 it estimates 184 metric tonnes at Kwale, down from 205 metric tonnes a year ago.

At its Ranobe deposit in Madagascar, the estimate stayed the same at 2,580 metric tonnes.

Base Resources shares rose 2.8% to 10.49 pence each on Friday morning in London.
