Italy hired banks as joint lead managers for the syndicated launch of a new May 2036-dated BTPei, a government bond indexed to eurozone HICP excluding tobacco, one of the banks said Monday.

The transaction is expected to be launched in the near future, subject to market conditions, the same bank said.

The banks hired as joint lead managers are BBVA, BofA Securities, Citi, HSBC and Societe Generale.
