BK Technologies Corporation announced that it has received two purchase orders for a total value of $3.4 million from the National Interagency Fire Center, National Interagency Incident Communications Division, as part of an ongoing annual lifecycle replacement program. NIICD manages a fleet of thousands of radios and has standardized on the BKR 5000, and this is the agency's third year purchasing the BKR 5000. The NIICD is a partnership between the USDA Forest Service and the Department of the Interior's agencies.

Located at the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, Idaho, the NIICD's mission is to provide portable emergency communications, technical training, and airborne remote sensing imagery services in a professional, prompt and customer-oriented manner, while optimizing resources and minimizing risks. The NCIID's main focus is wildland fire suppression, but they also respond to hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, oil spills, and other man-made and natural disasters where federal assistance is required.
