News about modification and elimination of certain fees related to BRD products and services

The trust you place in us by using BRD products and services is a source of great satisfaction to us, and we want to assure you that we are constantly making every effort to live up to your expectations.

Therefore, we would like to inform you that, as of 04.07.2022, we are improving the BRD offer dedicated to Individuals and introducing new contractual conditions for payment products and services for Individuals.

What is the main new news?

Modification and elimination of certain fees related to BRD products and services

• The management fee for the current account in lei will be 6 lei/month/ account, compared to the current 5 lei/month/ account;
• The management fee for the current account in foreign currency will be 10 lei/month/ account (equivalent in account currency), compared to 5 lei/month/ account (equivalent in account currency), as it is currently. Of course, in the case of current accounts included in a package of products and services, the management fee for the current account remains included in the management fee for the package.
• We are eliminating the 10 EUR/USD foreign currency savings account closing fee, so you will be able to close this account without any associated costs;
• We are changing some of the charges for over-the-counter transactions - details here;
• Update the costs for issuing statements (change valid from 15.07.2022) - details here;
• Introduction, as of 15.07.2022, of a 14 lei fee for delivery of the card by courier to the address of your choice. Exceptions are the following types of cards, for which delivery is free of charge: (i) Gold and Platinum debit cards, whether or not included in a current account package; (ii) debit cards included in current account packages contracted online via the institutional website www.brd.ro; (iii) credit cards ;
• Introduction of the 1% (of the transaction value)+7 lei fee for quasicash transactions (transactions made with the card at a merchant in order to obtain goods convertible into cash, such as but not limited to casino chips, lottery tickets, bets, etc.) made with Standard and Gold credit cards;
• Removal of the maximum fee for external payments to beneficiaries in countries outside the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) ordered online - details here;
• As it is no longer possible to replace debit/credit cards abroad on an emergency basis for cards issued under the Mastercard logo, we have eliminated the fee for this service;
• Modification of the BRD Capital Markets account management fee, applicable to customers who do not have a current account with BRD, as follows: lei - will be 6 lei/month/ account, compared to 5 lei/month/ account, as it is currently; foreign currency - will be 10 lei/month/ account (equivalent in account currency), compared to 5 lei/month/ account (equivalent in account currency), as it is currently.
• Specification of the date of collection of the annual debit card administration fee, which is: (i) in the first year, the date of card issuance, and (ii) in subsequent years, the 26th of the month of the anniversary of card issuance.
• Specification of the amount of penalty interest for unauthorised overdraft for current accounts with debit cards attached, calculated on the debit balance of the account, which is: 23%/year (RON), 13%/year (EUR), 0%/year (USD).

Update of the General Banking Conditions for Individuals, with provisions on, among others:

• extension of the operations that can be carried out through the MyBRD Contact service, including the possibility of using this service to contract current account packages and request the transmission of account statements to the e-mail address registered in the Bank's records;
• changes to the range of savings products on offer, including clarification of how interest is calculated for savings accounts;
• the possibility of receiving your card by courier to an address of your choice;
• rewording of the "Products and Services Packages" section to clarify its provisions;
• the introduction, in line with the internal requirements of the Group to which the Bank belongs, of the concept of "Senior Public Official", a category to which additional customer awareness measures will be applied.
