EnBW Energie Baden-Wuerttemberg AG intends to divest off minority stakes in Hungarian power firms, the Hungarian daily newspaper Nepszabadsag said, without naming its sources. EnBW has minority stakes of more than 20% in Matrai Eromu Zrt, Budapesti Elektromos Mûvek Rt. and North Hungarian Electricity Supply plc.

EnBW recently had a discussion with potential buyers regarding Matrai Eromu stake, however, the parties couldn't agree on the price, the newspaper said. Nepszabadsag didn't identify the would-be buyers. EnBW is seeking to unload its Hungarian stakes to raise funds for investment in renewable energy, Nepszabadsag said.

4-traders added that EnBW's Hungarian unit declined to comment on the report.
