This infamous establishment is an institution in the Grenadines. Perched on stilts above the Caribbean Sea, this legendary watering hole hosts truly memorable times for people from far and wide. Some would argue that it is the greatest bar in the world. This intimate and very laid back, 'no shoes' bamboo bar is an extraordinary haven, serving the 'coolest' drinks and the 'hottest' local dishes. It's where you'll find an interesting blend of locals, tourist and yachters as well as students from the University who make it over to the tiny islet every Sunday to enjoy the live music. Hog Island lies 30 metres off the south coast and is reached by boat. Roger is usually to be found in a hammock.

Victory Bar, Port Louis Marina, Grenada

Located in the exquisite marina, with tables overlooking the yachts, this bar and eatery is a favourite haunt of 'yachties', where they exchange seafarers' tales over their favourite cocktails, enjoy 'beer o' clock' at any time of day or enjoy breakfast, fresh salads, burgers and seafood brochettes. The Texas style BBQ on Friday nights, like the view, is truly unforgettable. The perfect venue to sit and watch the world drift by.

Junction Bar, Lance aux Epines, Grenada

This charming watering hole and café lounge sited in a typical Caribbean style wooden house complete with shutters, is owned and run by Lisa, a leading Grenadian artist. The Junction is a popular meeting place for a wide variety of interesting people. The cuisine ranges from Grenadian and Greek to Mexican, and every night is music night, including karaoke, Latin, reggae and DJs. And the mojitos are legendary. Enjoy deeply.

The West Indies Brewery, L'Anse aux Epines Stretch, Grenada

This local is owned by The West Indies Beer Company, which supplies many bars on the island. Specialising in real ales, the beers are hand crafted by a Master Brewer using the finest malt and hops and then keg conditioned for perfect carbonation and rounded flavours. The bar is a beer lover's paradise. Bring your own food or call ahead and they'll prepare their BBQ for you. They also host Hog Roasts, Indian nights and other food events.

Bananas Restaurant, St. George's, Grenada

Esther's Bar, Grand Anse, Grenada

Situated on the beach opposite the Vendors Market, this family-run bar has been described has having the 'best hole-in-the-wall on the beach atmosphere'. Barflies flock from miles around to be served by Esther's son, Kimani - the Cocktail King. He's famous for caring for his drinks and his customers in equal measure; a real gent. Some say he's the finest mixologist on the island. Go and judge for yourself. Kick off with a mojito.
