Cbeyond®, Inc. (NASDAQ: CBEY), a leading IP-based managed services provider to small businesses, today announced its BeyondMobile? Laptop Access service. The new service provides Cbeyond users with nationwide mobile broadband access, enabling connectivity to email, Internet, corporate networks and business applications by using a 3G EV-DO Rev A mobile network, which removes reliance on Wi-Fi hotspots.

Using the new BeyondMobile Laptop Access service and a Sierra Wireless AirCard® 595 PC Card, customers will be able to wirelessly access online information nationwide at broadband speeds. The AirCard 595 is designed to provide simple, high-speed connectivity, while minimizing battery power consumption; the AirCard automatically disconnects when a local broadband connection has been established.

With peak data transfer speeds of up to 3.1 Mbps on the downlink and up to 1.8 Mbps on the uplink, the AirCard 595 with BeyondMobile Laptop Access service allows users to efficiently download and send large files from anywhere. Laptop Access provides secure access to corporate networks using Cbeyond's remote user VPN and is compatible with all other Cbeyond applications.

?As the business world becomes increasingly mobile, our small business customers need technology that allows them to access their information while in transit,? said Brent Cobb, vice president of product management for Cbeyond. ?With our new Laptop Access service our customers can quickly and reliably access their data anywhere on the Internet, stay productive while they travel and maintain their focus on their business rather than spending time on less productive matters such as tracking down a high-speed data connection.?

?BeyondMobile Laptop Access service offers compelling benefits for both small business owners and employees, who frequently need to manage multiple projects and maintain close contact with colleagues and clients while working away from the office,? said Dan Schieler, senior vice president of worldwide sales for Sierra Wireless. ?In working with Cbeyond, we have a great opportunity to deliver reliable, nationwide connectivity to this largely untapped small business market.?

Cbeyond offers more than 20 voice, data, and mobile applications to its 27,000-plus small business customers. Its BeyondVoice? package is an integrated offering of voice, mobile and broadband Internet services. The Laptop Access service comes on the heels of the company's Integrated Voicemail service, which merges the company's mobile and landline voice messaging into one easy-to-access voicemail box.
