Votorantim Cimentos S.A. acquired additional 10.61% stake in Cementos Avellaneda, S.A. from Cementos Molins SA (BDM:CMO) for $60 million on December 27, 2012. Following the deal, Cementos Molins owns 51% stake in Cementos Avellaneda while Votorantim Cimentos S.A. holds 49%. In a related transaction, Votorantim Cimentos S.A. also acquired 12.61% stake in Cementos Artigas S.A. from Cementos Molins SA (BDM:CMO).
Votorantim Cimentos S.A. completed the acquisition of an additional 10.61% stake in Cementos Avellaneda, S.A. from Cementos Molins SA (BDM:CMO) on December 27, 2012.
Cementos Molins SA is a Spain-based company engaged in the production, distribution and sale of cements, lime and gypsum, as well as other related construction materials. The Company is also involved in the exploitation of quarries and deposits of clay, limestone and gypsum. As of December 31, 2011, the Company owned such subsidiaries as Cementos Molins Industrial SAU, Promotora Mediterranea-2 SA, Prefabricaciones y Contratas SAU, Propamsa SAU, Cemolins Internacional SL, Portcemen SA and Minus Inversora SA, among others. In addition, Noumea SA was the Companyâs major shareholder with 32.09% of its interest.
