CEZ, a.s. is looking to sell five coal-fired generators in Czech Republic for an undisclosed sum as a part to comply with antitrust laws of the European Union over competition-hurting position on the local electricity market. CEZ has hired Deloitte Advisory s.r.o. to act as an advisor on the sale. CEZ is in preliminary talks with Czech Coal Services a.s. and Energeticky a Prumyslovy Holding a.s. over the sale of coal-fired power plants. Analysts expect CEZ to generate between CZK 20 billion and CZK40 billion through the sale of these coal-fired power plants.
