With installation of the last steel box girder over the Adriatic Sea on July 28 local time, the CRBC-constructed Peljesac Bridge was finally joined together. The Peljesac Bridge and Access Roads Project has a total length of 3.94 km, with its main bridge stretching 2,440 meters. The bridge involves construction of 165 steel box girders, weighing about 34,816 tons, equivalent to the steel used for building 5 Eiffel Towers. They were all manufactured in China and then shipped to the construction site.

The project will be opened to traffic in 2022 when all access roads and constructions are finished. It will for the first time connect Croatian mainland with its southernmost region.
