Vietnam's first urban light rail was accepted after inspection by the State Council for Acceptance of Construction Projects on October 29. Connecting Cat Linh with Ha Dong in Hanoi, the rail is about to be put into operation soon. The China Railway Sixth Group is the EPC contractor of the project.

Assembled by the State Council for Acceptance of Construction Projects, the acceptance team consisted of representatives from Vietnam's Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Transport and the Hanoi People's Committee, as well as experts from quality inspection authorities. The construction, related training and operation quality of the railway have been highly recognized by the acceptance team, which said the project reached design standards and could be handed over for official operation.

As the EPC contractor of the Cat Linh-Ha Dong line, China Railway Sixth Group was responsible for the technical design, materials supply, construction, installation, personnel training and technological transfer of the project. Running around 13 kilometers in length, the rail has 12 elevated stations and one train depot.

A major project as part of China-Vietnam cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, the light rail is of great significance to improving Hanoi's urban transport system, alleviating traffic congestion and boosting regional economy.
