MINNETONKA, Minn. (AP) _ Communications Systems Inc. (JCS) on Friday reported a first-quarter loss of $2.2 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Minnetonka, Minnesota-based company said it had a loss of 23 cents.

The broadband network services company posted revenue of $10.2 million in the period.

Communications Systems shares have increased 45% since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 23% in the last 12 months.
