CSC (NYSE:CSC) today launched Coverage Exchange 360°, a comprehensive Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution providing implementation and infrastructure services for health insurance exchanges. Coverage Exchange 360° provides the tools to implement a successful exchange that complies with robust federal requirements, and a secure online marketplace that simplifies, standardizes and rationalizes the market for individual and small business health coverage purchasers.

Coverage Exchange 360° addresses each element required for a successful exchange, from an easy-to-navigate portal to a toll-free customer contact center. The solution provides individuals and employers with direct access to the network, enabling convenient self-service. Also, because CSC will host and manage the technology, overhead costs of implementing exchanges are significantly reduced. Coverage Exchange 360° is built upon CSC's experience in designing and implementing the nation's first exchange, Massachusetts' Health Connector.

?Within the first month of the Health Connector's launch, the site quickly became the go-to service for the state's health reform, with 80 percent of enrollments completed online,? said Bob Nevins, Chief Information Officer for the Health Connector. ?CSC worked closely with us to find the right solution for our unique needs, and delivered a polished finished product that could be delivered much faster than we imagined possible."

?The race to compliance has begun and the breadth and scope of work required to successfully launch and operate an exchange demands a partner with deep knowledge of government programs, private sector healthcare and technology,? said Mark Roman, president of CSC's Global Healthcare Group. ?As the firm responsible for designing and building the country's first exchange, CSC understands the key success factors that support federal provisions.?

Under the Affordable Care Act of 2010, all states and the Department of Health and Human Services are required to have an exchange operational before January 2014. Each exchange must determine eligibility for various subsidies and programs; educate consumers on coverage programs and eligibility; provide an online storefront to evaluate, compare and select coverage; facilitate the enrollment process and premium payment; and provide telephone and in-person assistance.

CSC's Healthcare Group ? which serves healthcare providers, plans, pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, government agencies and allied industries worldwide ? is a leader in transforming the industry through the effective use of information to improve outcomes, decision-making and operating efficiency.
