We are excited to officially launch our virtual work experience programme, Destiny. Destiny is an online work experience course, fully funded and delivered by Countryside alongside our partner Springpod, that will enable students in Y10 / aged 14 to complete the programme in their own time, at no financial cost.

The course includes four webinars that have been created by our colleagues around the business, and will cover a range of disciplines including Construction, Technical and Commercial.

Destiny will be accessible to all young people in London with particular priority to those across the London Boroughs of Brent, Redbridge, Kingston upon Thames, Waltham Forest, Barking & Dagenham, Lambeth, Havering and Enfield, and surrounding areas such as Ebbsfleet, and will provide valuable insights and introductions into a range of careers within the housebuilding sector - from construction, quantity surveying and development, through to sales, marketing, and customer service.

Once enrolled, the programme will take 10 hours to complete and if students enjoy the course and are interested in learning more, they can complete further optional projects and request to do further in-person work experience with us, where they will have the opportunity to learn more about our modern methods of construction, how to engage with local communities, and our approach to sustainability. All students will also get the opportunity to learn about applying for the Countryside Early Careers Programmes.

Destiny will run from Monday 24th October until the end of November and is open to students in Year 10 / aged 14. Please keep an eye out for our programme which will run a number of times throughout 2023.

Kate Ives, Strategic Director, Countryside: 'At Countryside, we believe in creating places people love and a core part of this is engaging with the communities in which we work.
