Countryside welcomed Andy Carter, Conservative MP for Warrington South, to see the start of work at the Rivers Edge development in Warrington town centre, where over 500 new homes are being built on the former Spectra Packaging site in Centre Park.Andy Carter, Conservative MP for Warrington South, said: "Getting to see first-hand what 'modern methods of construction' means was incredibly insightful, understanding how timescales change for building a home, what can and can't be made off site and the benefits to the homeowner from this new type of construction. Government is investing in a new skills academy in Warrington to help train young people to work in this area and we now have a great example of the future of home building in Warrington South.

"The River's Edge development is a great example of locally based builders making best use of brownfield site, close to the town centre and local amenities and well served by public transport. The level of demand is a clear testament to the offer and I'm looking forward to watching the site develop over the next three years."

The homes at Rivers Edge are constructed at Countryside's modular factory, also in Warrington, before they are assembled on site. The local representative was shown around some of the homes that have already been assembled and was also introduced to Countryside's partnerships model which enables the developer to provide a mixed tenure offer on its developments.

Countryside is working with Sigma Capital Group, a leading provider of build-to-rent housing, as well as, Torus, the largest provider of affordable housing in the North West, to bring a completely mixed-tenure offer to Rivers Edge.

Mark Hadfield, Managing Director,Merseyside and Cheshire West, Countryside, commented: "It was great to welcome Andy Carter to the site and showcase what is a flagship development for the Merseyside and Cheshire West team. It has been fantastic welcoming local stakeholders to Rivers Edge, introducing them to our partnership model and to our building method, and receiving positive feedback.

"We are already making great progress at the site, the homes that are being built here will be a credit to the area, and by working with Torus and Sigma there will be something for everybody. Countryside is creating a sustainable community that willtransform this brownfield site and the wider area."
