Carter Validus Operating Partnership II, LP agreed to acquire American cancer society center building from Cousins Properties Incorporated (NYSE:CUZ) for approximately $170 million on April 19, 2017. The transaction was funded with a combination of (1) a loan in the aggregate principal amount of $116.2 million from KeyBank, which is secured by the 250 Williams Atlanta Data Center, (2) net proceeds from Carter Validus Mission Critical REIT II, Inc.’s ongoing initial public offering and (3) proceeds from Carter Validus Mission Critical REIT II’s secured credit facility. Cushman & Wakefield arranged acquisition funding for Carter Validus Operating Partnership II. Stewart Calhoun, David Meline, Samir Idris and Andy Johns of Cushman & Wakefield acted as brokers for Cousins Properties. Mike Ryan and Brian Linnihan of Cushman & Wakefield's equity, debt and structure financing group, led the acquisition funding on behalf of Carter Validus Operating Partnership II. Kristina Kopf Thomas of Eversheds Sutherland (Us) Llp acted as the legal advisor to Cousins Properties while Stephen L. Kussner of GrayRobinson PA acted as legal advisor to Carter Validus Operating Partnership II in the transaction.
