The World Airline Awards are the most prestigious global awards in the aviation industry, known as the Oscars of Aviation.

Zagreb, 18 July, 2016

At the recent Farnborough Air Show, where the prestigious World Airline Awards were held, Croatia Airlines was proclaimed one of the best airlines in Eastern Europe. Despite very strong competition, Croatia Airlines won fourth place, beating out some of the best airlines in this part of Europe, as well as companies from Serbia and Slovenia, i.e., from the former common state (for example, Air Serbia was ranked seventh, and Adria Airways eighth).

The World Airline Awards are the most prestigious global awards in the aviation industry, known as the Oscars of Aviation. Airlines are given awards based on the experience of passengers, and this year only, more than 19 million passengers took part in the survey. The survey covered more than 280 airlines around the world, and it comprised about 40 key performance indicators.

- We are very pleased that we have received this global recognition which further strengthens our market position as one of the best airlines in Europe. We can proudly say that this is the result of our systematic investment in the improvement of our services and passenger satisfaction, which is, among other things, reflected in the expansion of our network of flights and the opening of new air routes that connect Croatia with several attractive European destinations - said Krešimir Kučko, President of the Croatia Airlines' Management Board.

To remind you, this prestigious award is the result of a positive trend in Croatia Airlines' operations after expanding our flight network this year to include as many as four new routes from Croatia to some of the most attractive European destinations. This global benchmark of excellence based on passenger choice is further recognition of the systematic efforts and investments carried out by Croatia Airlines after the successful completion of the restructuring program.
