News Releases 2023/12 TaiwanCTCI Awarded EPC Contract for STSP Resource Renewal Center Expansion Project

TAIPEI, December 13, 2023- CTCI has been awarded an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for Southern Taiwan Science Park's Phase 2 Resource Renewal Center Expansion Project, which builds upon CTCI's construction and operation success of the current resource renewal center. By expanding the resource renewal center, the science park's administration will have the capacity to handle the growing amount of industrial waste inside the science park while satisfying the policy requirement which dictates the park's waste to be treated independently.

The expanded resource renewal center, which includes an energy-from-waste (EfW) plant that has the treatment capacity of 80 tons per day, is scheduled to be completed in 2026. CTCI, the only company in Taiwan capable of providing one-stop waste treatment services for the investment, EPC, and O&M of EfW plants, will be responsible for the design, procurement, and construction of the incineration facility, physical and chemical treatment facility, and solidification facility. Waste incineration will help reduce the carbon footprint that would otherwise be present if the waste is treated through conventional means, such as landfill.
CTCI will utilize green technologies to ensure the resource renewal center is environmentally friendly and lives up to the spirit of the circular economy. These include flue gas recirculation system to minimize the emission of air pollutants; improved fluidized bed to increase the waste combustion efficiency and save energy; heat recovery boiler to recover the waste heat from incineration, which can be turned into renewable energy and supply steam and heat to firms inside the science park; and technologies to minimize effluent discharge.
With nearly three decades of experience in the resource cycling field, CTCI is committed to providing waste treatment solutions for the public and private sectors. Over two-thirds of EfW plants in Taiwan have either been designed, planned, constructed, operated, maintained, renovated, upgraded, or commissioned by CTCI. Currently, CTCI operates nine EfW plants in Taiwan and two large EfW plants in Macau. Keeping its promise to act as a Guardian of Sustainable Earth- the ESG vision of CTCI- CTCI looks forward to working with clients in creating both environmentally and economically beneficial projects by applying green engineering, recycling, and reuse technologies.
