On a per-share basis, the Davidson, North Carolina-based company said it had profit of $3.11. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $3.16 per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.92 per share.

The engineering firm posted revenue of $785.8 million in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $737.3 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $354.5 million, or $9.20 per share. Revenue was reported as $2.85 billion.

Curtiss-Wright expects full-year earnings to be $10 to $10.30 per share, with revenue in the range of $2.96 billion to $3.01 billion.
