FOCUS ranking: Dürr named best employer in the area of mechanical and plant engineering

Bietigheim-Bissingen, February 3, 2014 - In the latest FOCUS ranking "Germany's Best Employers", Dürr was ranked top for the first time in the category "Large Mechanical and Plant Engineering Enterprises, Multitechnologies". In the overall ranking of all companies that took part in the competition, totaling around 2,000, the production technology specialist climbed to 24th place (previous year: 79th). The FOCUS magazine ranking is one of Germany's most highly regarded studies on job satisfaction and employer attractiveness.


The FOCUS ranking was based on a survey addressed to almost 20,000 employees. They shared their views via an online questionnaire and the XING career network on aspects such as work environment, leadership culture and remuneration as well as diversity, social benefits and career prospects within their company. Another important factor was whether staff would recommend the company as an employer. In addition, around 23,000 employer evaluations were taken into account using the Kununu online evaluation platform.

Dürr is a mechanical and plant engineering group that holds leading positions in the world market in its areas of operation. It generates a good 80% of its sales in business with the automotive industry. Application Technology provides automated paint application, sealing, and glueing with its
robot technologies. Machinery and systems from the Measuring and Process Systems division are used for balancing and cleaning in engine and transmission manufacturing as well as in final vehicle assembly, among other areas. The fourth division, Clean Technology Systems, specializes in processes to improve energy efficiency and exhaust air purification.
