Pursuing its expansion in the wind energy market in Europe, EDF Energies Nouvelles announces the commissioning of the 38 MW Rignano Garganico wind power plant in Italy. This facility was commissioned in late December 2012.

Located in the region of Apulia, in the Foggia province, the Rignano Garganico wind power plant comprised nineteen Vestas turbines, each with a unit capacity of 2 MW.

This project was developed, built and is owned by EDF EN Italia, the Italian subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles.

Operating in Italy since 2001, this new facility is the ninth wind project completed by EDF Energies Nouvelles and lifts its wind energy installed capacities in the country to 525 MW gross.
