Dear Sirs,

EDP - Energias do Brasil S.A., a corporation registered as a publicly held company at the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission ("CVM"), with its head office in the city and state of São Paulo, at Gomes de Carvalho Street, 1996 - 8th floor, CEP 04547-006 , enrolled in the tax register (CNPJ/MF) under number 03.983.431/0001-03 ("Company" or "EDP Brasil"), hereby presents clarifications in response to Official Letter 437/2019-SLS ("Request"), by means of which EDP Brasil is requested to clarify the news published in the media, as transcribed below:

"According to news published by Agência Estado - Broadcast, on 06/4/2019, under the heading "EDP rises 5% with rumor that CTG evaluates agreement to obtain control", contain, among other information, that China Three Gorges (CTG) evaluates an agreement to obtain control of the EDP - Energias de Portugal's business in Brazil."

EDP Brasil maintains with CTG Brasil an operational partnership in three hydro generation assets, namely: Empresa de Energia São Manoel S.A.; Companhia Energética de Jari; and Empresa de Energia Cachoeira Caldeirão S.A.. In view of the above-mentioned media reports, and having made the necessary inquiries, the Company informs that it is not aware of any understanding that corroborates the information presented on the news.
