Eiffage Energie Systemes - Clemessy, a subsidiary of the Eiffage group, has just won the turnkey contract for the design and construction of a multimodal hydrogen production and distribution site to be operated by Hynamics (the hydrogen subsidiary of the EDF group) in Danjoutin in the south of Belfort.

This project, a pioneer in terms of carbon-free mobility in Belfort, aims to ensure the refuelling of low-carbon hydrogen for the 7 buses in the fleet operated by the RTTB (Regie des Transports du Territoire de Belfort) on behalf of the SMTC (Syndicat Mixte des Transports en Commun) on the Optymo urban transport network.

Located in the immediate vicinity of the bus depot and the A36 motorway axis, the site called 'H2 Nord Franche-Comte' will meet the needs of a local hydrogen ecosystem integrating the region's industrialists, and will contribute to the structuring of a hydrogen corridor.

Powered by 100% renewable electricity, the station, whose hydrogen production will be ensured by a 1 MW electrolyser, will have two Hi-Flow distribution terminals with the possibility of supplying the 7 buses in one hour as well as a third terminal adapted to the filling of mobile storage (trailer tubes and bottle frames).

Eiffage Energie Systemes - Clemessy will be responsible for engineering, electrical engineering, fluids and site protection. Eiffage Route, a member of the group, will be in charge of earthworks, civil engineering and VRD.

Commissioning should be effective after 15 months of work, i.e. at the end of the first quarter of 2023.

Innovative and scalable, this facility aims to meet by 2025 the increase in Optymo's fleet of hydrogen buses to 27 units as well as the needs of other types of vehicles such as commercial vehicles or household waste dumpsters.
