Low-carbon construction by Eiffage is gaining height on the Athletes' Village and the synergy between our businesses is illustrated: emblematic project whose sector E is developed by the group composed of Nexity, Eiffage Immobilier,CDC Habitat, EDF, Groupama, theEiffage Construction and Savare teams participate fully. Currently, the installation of the 1st wood elements, the MOB (wood frame walls), is implemented.

3 construction methods were chosen for sector E: Low carbon concrete on the 6 housing buildings R+10 Mix wood low carbon concrete FOB (wood frame facades) on the office building R+7 Mix wood low carbon concrete structure MOB bio sourced on the 12 buildings R+5 housing

After more than a year of exchanges with the wood industry (from the forest to the implementation) and intensive collaboration with Euro Lamelle, Goyer, and Savare, a subsidiary of Eiffage Construction expert in wood construction, the challenge is met with the first lifting of bio-sourced MOB produced by Savare. The installation of the glued laminated beam post structure and the connected wood/low carbon concrete mix floors is also provided by our teams.

100% of the structural wood of the project (excluding LVL - laminate wood) comes from French forests: the Etiquette Bois Eiffage - a traceability tool developed by our teams -, accompanied by the expertise of Product DNA - a company specializing in product traceability consulting - allows traceability and transparency of the wood used.

Overall, more than 20,000 m-2 of MOB facades will be produced, stored, delivered by Savare as well as 1,600 m3 of glued laminate produced by Euro Lamelle, which is scheduled to be installed in 2022/2023.

The office building has 1,400 m3 of glued laminate, 15,000 m2 of connected low-carbon concrete floor and 800 blocks of aluminium and wood mix facades produced by Goyer, a subsidiary of Eiffage, and Savare.

Sector E is scheduled for delivery in December 2023, one semester before the start of the Games. After hosting the sports delegations in 2024, the 'Heritage 2025' phase will begin: it consists of adapting the buildings and reusing them into a dynamic, lively district, as a legacy to the inhabitants.

A beautiful operation that we will follow throughout the work!
