BRYN MAWR, Pa. (AP) _ Essential Utilities, Inc. (WTRG) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $102.7 million.

The Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania-based company said it had profit of 40 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 46 cents per share.

The results matched Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 46 cents per share.

The water utility posted revenue of $474 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $284.8 million, or $1.12 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.46 billion.

Essential Utilities expects full-year earnings to be $1.64 to $1.69 per share.

Essential Utilities shares have decreased almost 7% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $44.09, a decline of 15% in the last 12 months.
