Field Solutions Holdings announced that it has been awarded $20.475 million from the Federal Government's $82 million Regional Connectivity Program Fund (RCP). The Federal Government's Regional Connectivity Program (the RCP) which closed in November 2020, provided up to $83 million of targeted investment in `place-based' telecommunications infrastructure projects which maximise economic and social opportunities in regional, rural and remote Australian communities. FSG specialises in delivering connectivity solutions to rural, regional and remote Australia and over the past four years has developed and operates the large national non-NBN fixed wireless network covering NSW, QLD, NT, WA, TAS and VIC, with a surface area of approx. 81,000 km. With the Federal Government's support under the RCP, Field Solutions will deliver new networks in twelve, traditionally underserviced areas across Australia, where true broadband and general connectivity services are greatly lacking. FSG has been awarded funding to build network infrastructure across five states in the following local government areas: NSW - Gunnedah Shire, NSW - Moree Plains Shire, NSW - Warren Shire, NSW - Murrumbidgee Shire, QLD - Isaac Shire, QLD - Balonne Shire, QLD - Blackall-Tambo Shire, QLD - Paroo LGA, Bulloo Shire, QLD – Napranum, VIC - Swan Hill Shire, NT - Arrawerr, Mungkarta, Gan Gan, Wandawuy and WA - Central Midlands Region. The construction phase of the projects is planned to commence in August 2021, with revenue flowing from these networks as early as second half of fiscal year 2022. Strategically, FSG has emerged as a leading provider of telecommunications services. FSG's networks now deliver to residential, business, government and enterprise customers true broadband (both symmetric and asymmetric) services. The combination of its organic and government supported network rollouts, and the Optus partnership will see FSG experience significant growth as a network infrastructure. FSG, who became the fourth telco to ever be awarded funding under the Federal Mobile Blackspot program (MBSP) last year, plans to participate in all future rounds of the program to further leverage its infrastructure to deliver multiple connectivity services off a single asset. Round 5A of the MBSP is currently being assessed, with round 6 planned to be released within the next 12 months. FSG's construction teams are currently finalising network builds across Southern QLD and Central NSW, together with planning construction activities for WA. FSG's network is slated to grow to over 160 towers across Australia in the next 18 months. FSG estimates the total grant funding pool will be in excess of $600 million across state and federal initiatives.
