Fluxys Deutschland GmbH has acquired a 25 percent share in the Ostsee Anbindungsleitung (Baltic Sea Connection Pipeline, OAL) from GASCADE Gastransport GmbH. The approximately 50-kilometer-long OAL connects the LNG terminal in the port of Mukran on the island of Rügen with Lubmin, where it is linked to the pipeline network. With this investment, Fluxys deepens its cooperation with GASCADE: The two TSOs are already co-owners of the NEL and EUGAL pipelines.

Fluxys Deutschland will market the corresponding transport capacities independently starting in the next few days, offering them at the point "Baltic Energy Gate - Fluxys" via the PRISMA booking platform on First-Come-First-Served (FCFS) basis. As this is an entry point for LNG capacities into the transmission grid, the applicable FZK tariff will be discounted by 40 percent for bookings of at least 90 days or longer.

The applicable tariffs can be found here.

The investment fits into Fluxys' strategy of building a multi-molecule infrastructure for a climate-neutral future together with proven partners. In the first step, OAL is strengthening the security of supply and diversification of energy supply by providing additional LNG volumes. In the second step, the pipeline can be converted to the transportation of hydrogen and thus make an important contribution to the climate-neutral transformation.
