Forbo closes sale of its industrial adhesives activities to
H.B. Fuller
In December 2011, Forbo announced an agreement to divest
its industrial adhesives activities, including synthetic
polymers, from its Bonding Systems division to H.B. Fuller
Company. Following fulfillment of all the conditions, the deal
was successfully closed on March 5, 2012.

In the 2010 business year, the Bonding Systems division, with
industrial adhesives, synthetic polymers and building and
construction adhesives, posted sales of CHF 606.6 million (with
industrial adhesives and synthetic polymers accounting for CHF
499.3 million and building and construction adhesives CHF 107.3
million). Bonding Systems employed around 1,400 people.
Thereof, the building and construction adhesives activity,
which is not affected by the deal, employs around 300
people.
Forbo is a leading manufacturer of floor coverings, building
and construction adhesives as well as power transmission and
conveyor belt solutions. Prior to the closing of the
transaction, the company had approximately 6,000 employees, 41
production and distribution sites as well as 47 pure sales
companies in a total of 35 countries worldwide. In the 2010
business year, it generated net sales of CHF 1,789.7 million.
Forbo is headquartered in Baar in the canton of Zug,
Switzerland.
Forbo will disclose relevant details on its divested and
continuing activities when it announces the 2011 annual results
on March 20, 2012.
